Staying Safe from Harm during the Moot

At the World Scout Moot, everyone’s safety and well-being are of utmost importance. The Safe from Harm framework reflects our dedication to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment. Discover more about the various ways the Moot is enhancing safeguarding by exploring this page.

For safety purpose, participants needs to :

  • Adhere to the updated Code of Conduct at all times during the Moot and in Path activities. Any violation of the Code of Conduct and the Portuguese Law will lead to a variety of consequences, including the expulsion from the Moot.
  • Complete the mandatory Safe from Harm online learning path.
    • The training includes 3 modules that must be completed by all adults attending the Moot
    • The training is available in English, in French and in Portuguese.
    • A certificate of completion of the 3rd module – Safe from Harm at the 16th World Scout Moot will be required from participants, to access the Moot venue.
  • Report any potentially harmful situation through the different reporting channel
    • Through the App
    • Through the emergency line of the World Scout Moot
    • Through the Listening ears 

Reporting a Safe from Harm  situation

It’s your responsibility to report any incident you encounter or see that makes you or the person or people involved feel uneasy, afraid, or unsafe. A possible Safe from Harm situation can be reported using the following channels:

  • Express your concerns with the Safe from Harm “Listening Ears” in the main camp stations or through the app.
  • Ask for support via the Moot app’s “Safe from Harm” feature.
  • Alert a member of the Moot Organising team 
  • Call the emergency line of the Moot
